Loud Poets: Best of Fringe

It’s August, and you know what that means: time for the Edinburgh Festival Fringe! We at I Am Loud have been working hard behind the scenes for the past several months preparing a stellar show for you all. For our 8th (!!) Fringe run, we’re presenting Loud Poets: Best of Fringe, a showcase of the very best of UK spoken word poetry. We’re hosting 20 shows over 12 nights featuring 60+ poets.

Many of our evenings at the Scottish Storytelling Centre are double bills with a half-hour break in between. You can buy tickets for individual shows or take advantage of our double bill discount and join us all night for a smorgasbord of poetry! In order to get the discount, please book via the SSC website. Each show has a unique lineup and will feature three spoken word poets, hosted by our Creative Director Kevin Mclean. As always, our favourite part of organising Fringe is curating lineups of brilliant poets we know you’ll love, so without further ado, here’s the full lineup:

Enter by 19th August

I’m looking forward to performing on the evening of the 27th along with the rest of the I Am Loud crew!

The wonderful poet Callum O’Dwyer has created our Fringe trailers and intro videos since our first run in 2014, so it was a joy – and essential! – to feature him again this year. Check out our trailer here:

Our final show this August, on Sunday the 28th, is our annual Fringe Slam! Compete for the coveted title of Loud Poets Slam Champion and for a £250 cash prize. To put your name in the hat, please sign up here by 19th August.

We couldn’t be more excited to share all this poetry with you – hope you can join us this month! Tickets are on sale via the Scottish Storytelling Centre website or by phoning 0131 556 9579. See you soon! – Katie
